My wife's story.  We were just kids when we met, high school sweethearts to be exact.  When she was about 20 years old she was rear ended by an elderly man.  We were young and naive in thinking his insurance company would treat her fairly. She had severe neck issues but were told by everyone that it will go away in 6-8 weeks.  Well, we settled with his insurance company for a small sum. We got the car fixed and a little money for her neck pain.  Plus, we felt bad for the old guy. The insurance rep played on our sympathy. As you might have guessed it the neck pain did not go away.  In fact, she had trouble sleeping for over 2 years and she always complained about her neck.  She said the pain for like a rock in her shoe, it was always there and got worse when she was active.  We have been married for 37 years and her neck is fine now.   If I only knew then what I know now.
